Now that I am back in the "Arctic Midwest", I am looking at the "green" on my finger from my new ring and wondering why I fell for the "Mexican silver" again! Because it was fun! It was fun being warm and walking among the thong of vendors on the beach. It was fun sleeping late, having coffee on the deck and fun not having to do anything but relax and enjoy! But mostly it was fantastic fun spending one week in paradise with three of my BFFs from high school ions ago!
Our place in the sun was Pueblo Bonito Rose' on Medano Beach in Cabo San Lucas. The timeshare is directly across from "the Arch" which is a rock formation located where the Sea of Cortez meets the Pacific Ocean. Cabo is a small touristy town located at the tip of the Baja. About ten years ago, when I started coming here, it was a sleepy little town with dirt roads and one stop sign! There still may be one stop sign, but there is also a large shopping center, many trendy small clothing shops, jewelry shops, souvenir shops, markets and even a Walmart and Costco! There are tons of restaurants including some that cook your catch of the day. And of course there is a Cabo Wabo and a Hard Rock Cafe.

To arrive, one must fly into San Jose del Cabo (cabo means cape), and drive through the Corridor to Cabo San Lucas which takes about 45 minutes. So between the two "Capes" there is the "Corridor"! There is cab service, limo service, and a shuttle service owned by Cape Travel, which I usually take for $22.00 each way.
There is always something to do on the beach......parasailing, banana boat rides, deep sea fishing, a variety of cruise offerings, like booze cruises, pirate ship sunset cruise, dinner cruises and sightseeing boat tours. Everybody wants to sell, sell, sell, from the vendors on the beach to condo sales.

All of us ladies enjoyed a leisurely week in March . We talked until the wee hours of the morning, ate at favorite restaurants like "Tabasco"," Cilantro", and "The Office", all on the beach, "Felleni's" at our resort, "Mi Casa", my very favorite in town, and "The Peacock" which is close to "home". Our mantra was "no cooking"! We spent a lot of time shopping, relaxing around the pool and walking on the beach. Our "night life" was listening to Mexican music on the beach until 10p at the latest. But mostly, we just enjoyed being together and reminiscing on our almost 60 years of friendship.
